What to pack for a holiday in the Lofoten Islands
We spent five days in the Lofoten Islands, in Norway’s Arctic circle, in February. The average temperature was about 0ºc although it did drop to around -4ºc at points.
Daylight hours were 8am to 4:30pm so we spent a fair amount of time outside. But if you’re going on any guided hikes or kayak tours you will probably be supplied with appropriate gear.
Our trip consisted largely of short walks, photo stops, wandering around fishing villages, and one morning of sea kayaking. So my packing list is a mix of practical outdoor clothing and regular winter items for time spent in hotel bars and restaurants and our cosy Airbnbs.
